HOW WE WORK
We take a thoughtful and focused approach, working alongside organisations that understand the communities they serve and are well placed to create meaningful and lasting change.
Our partners work directly with older adults facing challenges such as isolation, poor health, financial hardship, limited support networks or barriers to living safely and with dignity. We listen to their knowledge and experience, while bringing our own perspective, relationships and resources to help strengthen what is already working or shape new approaches where needed.
Guided by clear criteria and shared values, we prioritise partnerships that respond to the realities older adults face and have the potential to improve quality of life and strengthen the wider systems of support around them.
Our Ageing with Dignity Framework
We believe ageing well is about more than meeting basic needs. It is about creating the conditions for older adults to feel safe, supported, connected, valued and able to live with purpose.
Our Ageing with Dignity Framework provides the lens through which we consider those needs and opportunities. It looks at the whole experience of ageing across five interconnected dimensions: wellbeing, care & security, social inclusion & belonging, purpose, and dignity.
These dimensions are interconnected rather than sequential. Together, they help us understand what matters in later life, assess where we can contribute most meaningfully, shape our partnerships and learn from their impact over time.

The Framework
What matters in later life
The Ageing with Dignity Framework defines the five interconnected dimensions that guide how we understand ageing well.
Strategic Focus Areas
Where we focus
Our Strategic Focus Areas translate the Framework into the areas where we focus our partnerships, resources and learning.
Together, the Framework and our Strategic Focus Areas connect what matters in later life with the areas where BAPU can contribute most meaningfully.
