Growing Older Should Never Mean Becoming Invisible
The BAPU Foundation is dedicated to supporting vulnerable and often overlooked older adults, helping them live with respect, connection, purpose and dignity.
As the global ageing population continues to rise, so too does the urgency to address the challenges older adults face—from access to healthcare and safe living conditions to social isolation, financial insecurity and mobility limitations. Our purpose is to respond to these challenges by supporting community-led, sustainable solutions that help older adults lead meaningful, enriched lives.
Through strategic partnerships, awareness and advocacy, research and thoughtful innovation, we help strengthen the people and organizations already closest to older adults.
We believe that older adults are not simply recipients of care, but valuable contributors to society — deserving of opportunity, respect, and connection. This is not abstract to us. It is the same lesson we learned from Bapu and Pushpa’s own lives: dignity in later life is never guaranteed. It is built, deliberately, by the people willing to show up.

Our Name, Our Logo
The name Bapu honours the man behind our foundation — read his full story here. For us, it represents the wisdom of those who came before us, and our responsibility to honour, protect and include older adults.
Surendra, now known to us as Bapu, shares that name with Mahatma Gandhi — given in honour of the same humility and quiet strength.
The Circle of Care, shown in our logo, is more than two figures — it represents the families, caregivers, partners and communities who together support older adults facing vulnerability or isolation. The flowing form reflects continuity, movement and mutual support: our belief that ageing with dignity is made possible through a connected circle of care.
Blue reflects trust, stability and dignity. Orange brings warmth, optimism and human energy. Together, these colours also reflect the diverse origins of the people behind BAPU — different backgrounds brought together by one shared purpose.
