Strengthening independence, connection and dignity through community-based care
Hope Givers Foundation in Jaipur, India, brings older adults and children together in a shared environment, creating opportunities for connection, companionship and mutual learning across generations.
Today, 26 vulnerable and often overlooked older adults call Hope Givers Foundation home. Hope Givers provides essential care, nutritious meals and medical support, while also creating a sense of belonging and community — recognising that ageing with dignity is about more than meeting practical needs alone.
The home also maintains strong links with its local community, encouraging volunteers and neighbours to participate in care and outreach.
Hope Givers’ locally rooted approach, combining practical care with human connection and community involvement, closely aligns with how BAPU believes older adults should be supported.
Our work together focuses on one practical but important need: mobility. By improving access to safe and reliable transport, we aim to help residents access essential care, maintain greater independence and remain connected to the wider community.
What We Support
Mobility, independence and connection
Working alongside Hope Givers Foundation, BAPU Foundation is funding a new electric rickshaw for residents and caregivers, supporting transport to medical appointments, essential journeys and community activities.
For older adults, mobility is about much more than getting from one place to another. It can support access to healthcare, greater independence, participation and connection — all important to ageing with dignity.
Every elder deserves to feel seen, cared for, and valued — not for what they once were, but for who they still are. Compassion is the bridge that restores that dignity.
