WHERE WE INVEST

Investing Where It Matters Most: Our Strategic Focus Areas

The BAPU Foundation invests in five core areas that shape our funding priorities and partnerships. Together, they guide where we focus our resources and how we work with partners to contribute to meaningful, lasting change in the lives of vulnerable and often overlooked older adults — while helping to reshape how society values and supports people as they age.

Each area brings one or more dimensions of our Ageing with Dignity Framework into practice — translating why we act into where we invest. Research, Learning & Innovation connects them all.

Our Focus Areas

Safe Housing, Health & Care

Framework: Wellbeing, Care & Security

We support organisations that provide secure, dignified housing and comprehensive care for older adults in need. This includes stable shelter, essential services such as mobility assistance, emergency response, accessible transportation, home-delivered nutritious meals, and support for caregivers who deliver daily care with compassion and dedication — ensuring safety, dignity, and wellbeing.

Social Inclusion & Belonging

Framework: Social Inclusion & Belonging

We support partner-led programmes that reduce isolation and foster meaningful connections. These may include community gardening, cooking and art activities, intergenerational exchanges, mentoring and volunteering — creating opportunities for older adults to experience greater connection, purpose and belonging.

Cognitive Wellbeing & Technology

Framework: Purpose

We invest in partner-led programmes that support cognitive wellbeing, digital inclusion and social connection. These may include memory-support activities, lifelong learning, digital literacy and the thoughtful use of technology to strengthen care and connection.

Awareness & Advocacy

Framework: Dignity

We fund initiatives that raise awareness, advance policy, and strengthen public understanding of ageing and elder care. Through education campaigns, cross-sector collaboration, and community leadership, we empower society to champion elder care and promote dignity in ageing.

Research, Learning & Innovation

Framework: Strengthens all five pillars

We believe meaningful change is built on evidence, learning, and innovation. Through research, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, we explore and advance approaches that improve the wellbeing, inclusion, dignity, and quality of life of older adults. By combining data-driven insights with genuine compassion, we help shape better practices and stronger communities where older adults can thrive.
